Experience the North Park Harvest Craft Festival
Come and Experience the North Park Harvest Craft Festival
It’s that time of year again when the summer months are a fading memory and we begin to set our sights on the Holiday season. Each year seems to be a lot of the same thing, with people scrambling to buy the next big gift or searching through list after list of Black Friday and surprise online deals. And after the holidays when the dust settles you are left with another year’s worth of stuff that probably won’t last very long or wasn’t really what you wanted anyway.
What if there was a way to find a unique gift and support local artisans? Luckily for you, there is! Each year the North Park Arts Council brings local artists, craftsmen, and creatives together to show off their creations for the season! This year on Saturday, November 2nd, you’ll find all sorts of gifts for young and old, from jewelry and crafts to scents and artwork to feed the senses.
When: Saturday, November 2nd. 9am-2:30pm
Where: The Old Gymnasium. 5th and Washington Street in Walden, CO
Give a Gift with Heart
The problem with online shopping is how you spend hours looking through deals and reading reviews before hitting that “BUY NOW” button. Then you spend the next week or two hoping what you just ordered doesn’t suddenly drop in price someplace else. After that it’s a waiting game. You check your order history, tracking the package across the country, watching it zigzag across the map until somehow it reaches your front door.
If you’ve somehow beaten the porch pirates to your package, you open it up to check it out and find yourself underwhelmed. That’s the problem with shopping for gifts. Prices have gone up and the quality has dropped, but you won’t even find that out until you receive it.
Somehow it always looks better in the ads.
There’s no substitute for picking out the perfect gift in person. You get to handle the merchandise, you can feel the weight of it and understand the size of it. Right away you can tell if something is made of quality materials. When you are holding something in your hand, there’s no question whether or not the color is going to match and you won’t have to wonder what shape it’s going to be in once you get it home. The only mystery should be when the recipient shakes the box, wondering what is inside.
Beat the Crowds this Holiday Season!

Buying handmade or curated gifts from a live person lets you see exactly what you are getting before you hit that “Buy Now” button. You are also making sure the power of your buying dollar is staying in the community, instead of getting pumped into some billionaire’s pocket.
Shopping craft festivals not only lets you be in control of what you are getting, but it also encourages creativity and builds stronger ties within the community. That’s something you won’t see if you order some junk online or even whatever disposable appliance is on sale on Black Friday. Shopping the harvest craft festival means you get to play Santa and dazzle your loved ones with something that took a lot of thought and a lot of heart to choose for them.
Get to Know the Talented and Creative Side of North Park
Come for the friendly and welcoming atmosphere and stay for all the neat things you won’t want to leave without! Many of the vendors at the Harvest Craft Festival are local creatives who have even more to offer on their online shops or by appointment. Check outthese articles about some of thetalented folks in North Park who work hard to share their art and their passion for creativity.
Not only is the Harvest Craft Festival a perfect place to find that gift you’ve been seeking for that impossible-to-shop-for person, it’s a great way to get to know the people of North Park. You’ll feel like part of the community as you check out their wares and make conversation with other shoppers. The vendors are always happy to help you find the right item and help you learn a little bit about the history of it.
All the best gifts have a story to go with them, whether it is the process of making them, or just being able to tell someone where the gift came from. You don’t get that from Temu or Wish. Gift buying is becoming a lost art, but you can help these traditions endure—and find a great way to pass the time on your visit to Walden, CO.
