Live Music at the Neversummer Rodeo Weekend Events?

With all the music happening at Rodeo Weekend, you could close your eyes and follow the sound to the Stockman Bar and Grill. You are the opening act with karaoke until the live music starts. Who is performing live this Rodeo weekend in Walden? Two bands will be returning favorites to the Neversummer Rodeo weekend celebration: Chris Shrive and Shane Fabiani!

Chris Shrive

This singer/songwriter comes all the way from northeastern Pennsylvania. Chris Shrive is a veteran to the music scene, as well as having served our country in the US Army. He has played as the lead singer of Flatland Ruckus and other groups. Chris spends much of his time on the road, playing for bars, small venues, and along the east coast for fans of covers and originals alike. He’s part of a long tradition of road-musicians, working six days a week, doing what they love best.

Chris has been bringing his musical talents to North Park for Neversummer Rodeo celebrations for a few years now and we can’t wait to have him back again. From Toby Keith and Colter Wall covers to songs Chris has written himself, Chris Shrive brings the talent you won’t want to miss at the Street Dance and other nights during Rodeo Weekend.

You might like his cover tunes more than when you hear them on the radio. His tone and style fits in with the local feel the Stockman has been bringing for generations. Chris will be playing Friday through Saturday—at the street dance! Come check him out!

Shane Fabiani

This is Shane Fabiani’s third year playing in Walden for the Neversummer Rodeo Jam. He hails from the Scranton/Wilkes Barre area of eastern Pennsylvania, in honky tonks and roadhouse bars that wouldn’t look out of place in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado or Wyoming. Shane played for a few years with The Tommy Guns Band and other acts before striking out on his own. His love for the music is what drives him in his musical journey, as well as clear across the USA to play the Neversummer Jam.

Shane grew up listening to his dad’s old Johnny Cash records and drew his inspiration for music from both old and new country/western. He first picked up a guitar in High School and taught himself how to play by ear before meeting his favorite local bands and eventually ending up joining them in jam sessions as well as gigs throughout his stomping grounds in eastern PA.  Friends introduced him to the North Park area and Shane (like most of us) fell in love with the place.

Today Shane balances playing the music he loves with what little freetime he does get. His wife Cassie is his biggest fan as well as his social media team. He plays a mix of old and new songs, from somber whiskey sippin’ ballads to dance numbers that will get you on your feet.

Food, Fun, Music and More!

The Stockman Bar and Grill will be the place to check out during the Neversummer Rodeo weekend when you aren’t watching team roping, bronc busting, or barrel racing. Stop by not only for the music of our local talent on the karaoke mic, but also our visitors from out of town who will be playing your old favorites and new.

Craft Show

A craft show of local vendors and artisans will be selling their wares between the Walden FitCo and the Stockman Bar and Grill. North Park has many talented people who bring their talents out every year for unique gift items that tantalize the senses.

BBQ!

Nothing goes better with live music on a summer afternoon on Rodeo Weekend than BBQ, a cold drink, and music. The Stockman Bar and Grill will be hosting a barbeque with burgers, from 4-6pm on Saturday, June 22nd.

Beer Garden

Kick back and have a cold one in the summer sun at the Stockman beer garden. It will be open throughout the Neversummer Rodeo weekend to hang out with friends old and new.

Old Time Photo Booth

The Stockman Bar and Grill will also be hosting an Old Time Photo Booth. Get dressed up with your friends and relive the past in sepia-tone nostalgic pictures.

The Neversummer Jam Rodeo Street Dance

Rodeo weekend has been a part of North Park tradition for generations. As a long-time ranching community, rodeos has always been a part of mountain life, bringing people together to show off their skills as well as bring a little ruckus. After long winters, it’s at the sweet spot of summertime where North Parkers and visitors from all over the country gather to cut loose.

This weekend also marks the North Park Pioneer Reunion where “Old Timers” get together to catch up on the past. The dance has been a draw for young and old for years, and now it’s back again and bigger than ever.

Fourth and Fifth street will be blocked off, turning a block section of Walden’s Main Street into the Neversummer Jam Street Dance. Dust off your Stetson, your best jeans, boots, and all the rest to come two-step and swing all through the night to live music. As far as nightlife in Walden, CO goes, it’s the biggest event of the year!
